1. Debt
For those trying to figure out why the rest of the world wants to work with China instead of the North Atlanteans, here’s two stories that tell us why.
First, while the IMF demands austerity from African countries if they want to get one of their loans, there is no such demands with loans from China – “Africa Turning to China for Loans as IMF Austerity Demands Ruin Nations”
And second, even the US Treasury Secretary admits that sanctions are pushing countries away from using the dollar for trade – “Yellen Says Sanctions Risk US Dollar Hegemony”.
https://news.antiwar.com/2023/04/17/yellen-says-sanctions-risk-us-dollar-hegemony/
Nonetheless, Yellen still supports using sanctions. What do they say about repeating something that didn’t work the first time?
Remember stories about the Iraq war where many valuable antiquities were stolen? Well, here’s a sad story about how the militias in Syria that the United States are supporting, are involved in the same kind of looting and stealing of artifacts and antiquities - “US occupation, QSD militia continue plundering Syrian antiquities in al-Jazeera and Raqaa”.

Well, I guess when your financial system is a big gambling casino run by a national crime syndicate, you tend to attract some unsavory types as friends.
2. Fentanyl
So, in response to the fentanyl and opioid deaths occurring in the United States, earlier there were calls from certain U.S. lawmakers for invading Mexico, and now the Biden Treasury department has put sanctions on two Chinese companies that they claim are supplying precursor chemicals to the Mexican cartels – ‘U.S. imposes sanctions on Chinese companies in action over fentanyl’.
But then I found this story by Josh Bloom – ‘Can Fentanyl Be Curtailed By Banning The Chemicals Used To Make It?’, that these so-called precursors are very common and readily available chemicals that are used in so many different products and processes, that they really couldn’t be banned.
https://www.acsh.org/news/2020/11/24/can-fentanyl-be-curtailed-banning-chemicals-used-make-it-15175
And I also read this story – “China strongly condemns US’ sanctions on Chinese companies over ‘fentanyl precursors’ undermining bilateral narcotics control cooperation” and the foreign ministry of China said that
“it is internationally recognized that the responsibility for preventing the flow of ordinary chemicals into the drug production channel lies with the importing country.”

Ahhhh … but it seems that it’s always everyone else’s fault, n’est-ce pas !?!
3. Slavery in Canada
And I found this story that in Montreal at McGill University the student paper ‘The McGill Tribune’ changed its name to just ‘The Tribune’ because the founder of the university, James McGill, was a former slave owner of both African and Indigenous slaves! - “Student newspaper drops 'McGill' from name over university founder's slavery ties”.
https://ca.news.yahoo.com/student-paper-drops-mcgill-name-190506878.html
I remember that it was at this same university that the CIA’s ‘MK Ultra’ experiments were carried out. And so I found a story about this at the student newspaper too - “Declassified: Mind Control at McGill”.

[I think I should post some stories about research that I did on slavery coming to Canada, and on slavery leaving Canada. Part One will be on Sunday’s Blip Report.]
4. Gu Yu
Yesterday was the first day of Gu Yu, the last of the Chinese solar terms of spring. Gu Yu means Grain Rain (or Rain of Millet) and marks the onset of the rainy season and a favorable time for planting and the growth of crops.
It also was Chinese Language Day - to pay tribute to Cangjie, a legendary figure in ancient China who is said to be the inventor of Chinese characters. Legend has it that when he invented the characters, Heaven was moved and rained millet for him.
